JJ probably didnt really believe Corin liked him and when he realised she did,felt a bit overwhelmed with the attention/shy.

He's also probably anxious about being accused of wanting to start a showmance; which Sam did tease him about and people are already doing on here.And yeah,he probably dates more natural looking girls,but that doesnt mean you can't grow to like something different.
