Default Another Wrestler Dead: Age 29

FORMER WWE superstar Lance Cade has died from heart failure at the age of 29.

The wrestler, real name Lance McNaught, started his career as a student under Shawn Michaels in 1999.

He made his professional debut shortly afterwards and worked in Japan before being signed to a developmental contract with Vince McMahon's promotion.

In 2003, Cade and Mark Jindrak were paired together as a tag team and given a spot on Raw but split a year later.

He then joined forces with Trevor Murdoch and the duo spent three years together — winning the tag team championship on three occasions.

But despite that success, Cade failed to hit the heights as a singles' competitor and was released by WWE two years ago.

A statement from the wrestling company read: "World Wrestling Entertainment was informed Friday morning by Lance McNaught's father that he has passed away of apparent heart failure.

"WWE extends its deepest condolences to the McNaught family. Mr McNaught was under contract from March 2003 to October 2008 and performed under the name Lance Cade.

"He returned to FCW, WWE's developmental territory, in September 2009, and was released in April 2010."

A host of stars have sent messages of condolence and tributes to the fallen grappler.

Michaels said: "My prayers and thoughts have already been given to his family and will continue. Goodbye Lance I love you."

Hardcore legend Mick Foley added: "I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Lance Cade. Only 29 — I had no idea he was so young. My thoughts go out to his family."

And WWE star Matt Hardy said: "I was saddened to hear about the passing of Lance Cade today. My condolences and thoughts are with his family and children. It's a sad situation."

Basically it's steroid abuse...how many normal 29 year olds die from natural heart failure (i could be wrong but basically every source is saying that's how he died) also he was only 7 years older than me, that freaks me the **** out.......

Iceman's right about the Steroid abuse, the work schedule of a WWE star is too much really. Always nearly constantly on tour, when you're not wrestling it's all promotion and such. You've got to keep in peak condition but it's difficult when you're always moving around so some come to rely on steroids.

It's a shame, so many wrestlers die from it though you'd think WWE would try to do more to prevent addiction and such.

What the WWE and other wrestling companies do is perform lip service to anti steroid/painkilling drug abuse. If the wrestlers lost thier bulk they wouldnt be as impressive physically, they wouldnt cope with the injuries sustained on circuit, therefore wouldnt be able to put on as many shows, less impressive wrestlers, less shows mean less money for the wrestling organisations.

Its in their best interests to publicly condemn while provately condone the use of performance enhancers etc.

WWE scraped this one by the skin of their teeth, he was released in April.......if he had of died under the Company umbrella it would have killed them, they can't afford it....look at Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy(TNA), Rey Mysterio........the question is not what's next, but WHO'S NEXT? (excuse the pun)

Thats very true, one day they will be forced to look at the pressure they put their entertainers under and maybe readjust their profit margin. Sometimes less is more.

they are PG now which makes no difference to the guys in the locker room, yeah sure it makes it more family friendly, but are you seriously telling me John Cena has been steroid free for the past 5 years???? (answer that in your own head for yourself )
