I remember seeing a really old 70s film years ago about a radio dj who was being stalked by a crazed woman. There's a scene where she attacks him with a big knife and he grabs the blade full on which then cuts his hand badly.

That image of somebody grabbing a blade really stuck in my head and just makes me shudder when I think of it.
