Sebastien Squillaci set for Arsenal as Sevilla confirm £6.5m deal for defender

Sevilla have confirmed they have accepted a £6.5million offer from Arsenal for defender Sebastien Squillaci.

The Frenchman is currently en route to England for a medical on Monday with a view to signing for the Gunners ahead of next Tuesday's transfer deadline.

A statement on the Sevilla website read: 'Defender Sebastien Squillaci is tonight travelling to London to have a medical at Arsenal, the club he will be transferred to after an agreement was reached by the two clubs pending the results of the medical.'

Squillaci, 30, will strengthen an Arsenal rearguard weakened by the departures of William Gallas, Mikael Silvestre, Sol Campbell and Philippe Senderos if he does put pen to paper and complete a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The former Lyon centre-half, who joined Sevilla from Les Gones two years ago, asked to be left out of the side for the Champions League play-off against Braga last week so he would not be cup-tied for European competition.

JOSE MOURINHO is ready to raid Arsenal for left-back Gael Clichy.

The Real Madrid boss is desperate to bring two new full-backs to the Bernabeu but is unlikely to land his top targets, Chelsea’s Ashley Cole and Inter Milan star Maicon. Now Mourinho has set his sights on Clichy and Lyon’s Michel Bastos.

People Sport understands Arsenal are aware of Real’s interest in Clichy and Gunners boss Wenger must now decide whether or not he feels Kieran Gibbs is ready to take over as his first-choice left-back

16million they are offering, to real, id not let him go for less than 20..

Another French youngster dreams of Arsenal move
St Etienne’s Emmanuel Riviere is a member of the French U-21 squad and one of the hottest prospects in French football. The striker who’s egg had just hatched is already dreaming of a move to the Emirates to follow in the footsteps of his personal idol, Thierry Henry

Arsenal willing to double offer for Fulham keeper Schwarzer - Hope they dont if im honest, and just go for Sketleburg (sp)

Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor admits he may leave the club in January if he is not a regular starter at Eastlands.

The controversial former Arsenal striker was on the bench for City’s opening Premier League encounter with Tottenham Hotspur and although he has since discussed his future with Roberto Mancini, the towering Togolese star has been linked with AC Milan and Real Madrid and admits first team football is a prerequisite for him to stay.

Arsenal plot shock move for Mexican international
Arsenal - Efrain Juarez a reported Emirates target

The 22-year-old midfielder has made an instant impact at Celtic after joining the Scottish side this summer, and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is thought to be interested in bringing the versatile youngster to the Emirates.

AC Milan are poised to offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic an escape route from Barcelona in a deal that could see the Spanish champions make one last effort to sign Cesc Fabregas before the transfer deadline.
The Sweden striker is keen on a return to the city of Milan after his £45million move from Inter last summer, with Barca coach Pep Guardiola happy to allow him to leave.
His exit would make room for Fabregas by cutting £8m off the wage bill, giving president Sandro Rosell a reason to go back to Arsenal so he could fulfil his election pledge by taking Fabregas to the Nou Camp.

Massive Transfer news!
Doubt it would ever happen but..

Chelsea to Make Record Breaking £33m Bid for Real Madrid Man: Ancelotti Lines Up Sergio Ramos!! Move

Chelsea are reportedly set to make a massive €40-million bid for Real Madrid right-back Sergio Ramos .
According to the Marca, Blues chief Roman Abramovich is ready to offer the 24-year-old a huge five-year contract worth €10 million per season.

Ramos was one of Spain’s best players in the World Cup, essential at both ends of the pitch.

With his power and pace, Ramos is been very tough to beat at the back. He is an enthusiastic player, who is good in the air and never shies away from a challenge. He is exceedingly comfortable on the ball, and drives forward at every opportunity, giving his side an excellent option out wide.

Dno why everyone reckons M'boro will go up, they're bloody awful. A team full of SPL rejects and a clueless manager - midtable at best. Thier fans were all wanking over Kris Boyd, who's too shyte for this level and looks constantly disinterested, and the fat bastard makes Ross McCormack and Anthony Gerrard look annorexic.

We won't do it automatically cos we always fall at the final hurdle. Burnley would have if they had a better manager, Laws is tactically inept and tends to make dodgy decisions, I reckon they'll be about 6th. QPR have looked good tbf but they always start off well then drift into midtable, but Warnock's a great manager and could be the man they need to take them up.

Boro will rape the championship soon, they are starting to play together as a team now, Boyd and Mcdonald up front will score the goals for them, Robson, Arca, O'Neill, Thomson, in midfield are all quality players, they will defiantly go up, Boyd should be playing in the premiership.. and could have went in the summer but choose to play for Boro,

1st - Middlesbrough
2nd - Burnley
Play Off's - QPR/Ipswich/Cardiff/Preston - QPR will win the play off's

PS - You will never see a greater goal saving tackle that from the Worlds best defender

Boro are shyte. I watch this league week in week out and there's no way they're going up. Boyd is terrible, even saying he should be a Prem player is ridiculous because he can't even handle the Championship.

We have the best attack in the league by far and arguably the best midfield as well. A new solid and mobile center half to parter Hudson and we'll have the best defence as well.

Villa's 6-0 defeat.

Have the players been on the pi$$ for the last 2 weeks since O'Neill went, or is Stephen Ireland a cuckoo in the nest, upsetting the apple cart? He does seem to have a huge ego and be barking nuts as well. He seems to have taken a leaf out of fellow Corkonian Roy Keane's book and run with it, wrt playing for his country.

Bellamy couldn't help Celtic win the SPL when he was on loan to them so what makes people think he will get cardiff promoted.... Boyd will lead Boro to glory whilst bellamy stays with cardiff for another season in the Championship

Wait and see. With Strachan as their manager he'll take them nowhere, plus they need better than a team of SPL rejects.

Because we have other new players in the squad as well as Bellamy? We'll go up this season, the league is weaker than last year and we easily have the strongest squad in it.

Cardiff

Burke - Injured all the time, can remember him passing out and was out for ages, another bench boy
McCormack- Average of 1 goals in over 4.5 games for motherwell LOL
Rae - Kept on getting injured and was ****e in 90% of games
Naylor - One of the worst defenders to grace the SPL, Woeful
McNaughton - ****e average Aberdeen defender....
Quinn - ****e average motherwell defender....
Marshall - 35 games for celtic and was benchboy for Artur Boruc

Boro

Boyd - 101 goals in 143 games for Rangers, Reached the Uefa cup final with them, SPL top goalscorer 4 times.

Thomson - Also reached the Uefa cup final with Rangers, Won 5 trophys in 3 years with them

Mcdonald - Hate the **** but 51 goals in 88 games is amazing and was Celtic's best striker before leaving

Mcmanus - got made celtic captain when he was there and scored when they beat Milan 2-1 in the CL

Verdict -
