As for manipulative, yes, but in a good way, ie, she pulled the strings in BB6. Brilliant hm, probably the best.
Watch the final few weeks of that series again and you might change your mind. She was an amazing character, but completely evil towards the end. Even by BB6 standards and that's saying something.

I remember it, and my take on it was she was hoodwinking everyone, viewers too, in her own inimitable style. It was her unique sense of humour. People took it literally. It was a double-bluff on her part.

Must admit I did laugh when she was going on in the diary room about how she deserved to win because of her 'platinum personality'. I can't imagine that was done for any other reason than to enrage people.
