The problem is that every vote actually counts though; it's reasons like that why N.E.R.D went out to The Fray who, as far as I'm aware, only have one hit. Of course everyone's taste varies; but this is about recognising what was great about the last ten years of music, not the last year, I'm just surprised at the way some people have been voting with that in mind.

I agree with Greg that it's about the best music of the last ten years, not the last year, but if someone prefers Ke$ha, what justification is needed. As for the Killers - again you've only singled the anthemic point (to which I would add All These Things I've Done, Smile Like You Mean It, Jenny Was A Friend of Mine, Spaceman and Bones, at least) - but still can't counter my claim against their versatility: electronic on the first & third albums (Human, On Top, Jenny Was a Friend of Mine), rock on all, ballads (Sam's Town, A Dustland Fairytale, Romeo and Juliet)... I'd also cite their songwriting as some of the best of the decade.

Yes, I forgot Smile Like You Mean It, fair enough. I still wouldnt count any of the others as anthems any more than any artist's signature songs being anthems. And I didn't just single out the anthem point, I also noted that their critical acclaim is irrelevant. If we were to all vote by how critically acclaimed the artists are, rather than who we actually prefer, it would surely defeat the purpose.

Exactly, they're first release had to be after that date to QUALIFY. Says nothing about their unreleased material not being eligible to be taken into consideration when voting.
