I like it enough to be happy it's over. In some ways I wish it had ended the night Rachel Rice won and that would have been such a wonderful final going out on top after a superb season.
I was disappointed when it turned trashy in BB10 and I am relieved that wasn't the last because then it would leave a bad taste behind.
I liked BB11 but it wasn't quite resolved as a triumph,
but,
UBB did the right thing. So it feels 'right' now. It feels good leaving it now.

The worst thing that can happen to my BB memories?
If C5 got this and did make a 'cheap sequel' trying to emulate this era or even try and call it 'BB12',
no no no.
Unlike the OP I would actually prefer it does come back one day (not too soon) as a completely refreshed next-generation and entirely distinguished re-imagining of it's own.
Of course with the original concepts and basic rules (so that would be different ahem).

But yeah.. it may well be this is the last we see of it for a long time.

This for me would be paramount.
According to the Orwellian model the eponymous Big Brother was an unyielding and darkly authoritative figure. The first few seasons of our BB had this vibe (in a village fête kind of way) but gradually his integrity crumbled until you get to the point where HMs can actually demand a phone call to the outside world or they will walk.

In my mind, a dedicated panel of independent stewards that the production team deferrer to on plot matters would be a positive step to eliminate nepotism and decisions based upon perceived ratings.

Davina mentioned that this year more than any the production team had so much more fun behind the scenes than previously. I think that you could tell this from this side of the telly screen. If they had spent more effort on producing a quality show rather than jacking off back stage BB really could have gone out with a bang.

One of the most fascinating aspects was watching what happened when HMs went longer and longer without any contact with anyone else (and knew none was coming).
All kinds of subtle (or alarming) relationship twists, turns, trusts would develop.
Now, none of that matters. If (for example) one has isolated themselves from a group they don't need to find ways to overcome it and we don't see any such socio-psychological story pan out..
..because now they know it will just be a few days before new housemates arrive.
Or some guests to stay for some tasks.
Or their family will appear.
Or some celebrities will make appearances.

People may think that is so exciting when a new group of HMs arrived but they don't realize what it killed and lost.

Yeah, the original concept and something more truly orwellian would be great again imo

Then some say a 'Huxleyian' (if i can make that word) world might be what they were going for towards the end and that may be more disturbing and more relevant.
Maybe even the most disturbing is that nobody really noticed it!

I know BB does have to make money but yes I'd love to see something in place that takes away the temptation to sell-out their own premise for short-term ratings spikes even when they cheat the long-term investors.

I surely did notice that and it is probably one of the reasons BB11 can't quite break into my top 3.
It could have.. it really did have some potential but far too many times they were taking a break from the premise and instead of moving that 'arc' along they were all but sabotaging it.
I guess they had fun backstage or what?
But it did hurt the season I totally agree.
