Default Banning...is it just reactionary like on DS?

Not that I have been banned on Tibb , but looking at the who has been banned thread lots of folks here have.

But is it just that rather than being policed by policy from Tibb it is just a reaction to whoever chooses to alert mods just as happens on DS?

So really the policy is just as liberal as one poster for most of the time?

I understand that this may be the only logical way but is there not a 3rd way?

I don't use DS, so I can't compare here to there. And people get infractions for breaking the rules, and the infractions lead to bans.

I don't understand the question

I'm not sure, maybe take the blue pill.

It's automatic most of the time, if you go over the limit of infraction points the system will automatically ban you. I think the last time we ever banned anyone outright was Thomas. We very rarely ban anyone ourselves, they always shoot themselves in the foot with infractions.

I have tried to get banned on DS and it didn't work, I made silly threads and stuff in serious sections and they were just moved. :/ Never even got a warning.

Here however I make a thread called "strawberries" for example and write inside, "LeatherTrumpet has a face like the back of a camel". I receive a juicy infraction which leads to a ban.

It's because you're a repeat offender and you have a lot of points so it takes very little for you to go over a limit.

if bad behaviour leads to infractions does good behaviour (good posts and threads) lead to the slate being wiped?

99.9% of infractions have a time limit, once the time limit's up the infraction will disappear. If you keep playing up after an infraction's been given though you'll get more infractions frequently and potentially larger infractions. It's upto the user really, if they stop breaking the rules their points will eventually go down to 0 but if they choose to keep playing up then their points will skyrocket.

Well from my experiences I haven't been given a chance to improve on my behaviour, they automatically think every thread I make is a spam thread so I have no reason to make serious threads..

At last a thread on this that hasn't been closed or turned into argument.

There are many thing I don't understand about the system. The term 'Causing drama' is one the pops up from time to time yet seems to be quite subjective. There are many FM's on here who IMO only cause drama but I saw one of them state the other day that they only had 5 infraction points. I have also seen FM's given a large number of points for simply questioning a decision. It seems quite inconsistent so if a mod could explain then I'd be grateful.

It's because the threads you've been infracted for are spam, if you keep doing it you're gonna get infractions, you aren't above the rules Jessica.

I don't mean getting infractions for threads, I mean them being closed. When someone has already punished for something mods should forget about it and respect future threads.

Causing drama is a bit of a umbrella term, it essentially means stirring, trying to continue an argument or thread after it's been closed or complaining about a mod's decision on the forum instead of through the proper channels. All of which causes drama.

We're only human so we don't always see everything that happens so some people will get through the net, it's not that we're inconsistant it's just we don't always see everything that goes on and most people would rather have an argument then report it so sometimes things go unnoticed.

Closing threads runs along a similar principle, take that lost thread you did for Andy, it was obviously spam and only there to cause drama so it's going to be closed. If you keep spamming that we aren't going to instantly forget about it sicne you haven't learnt from your mistakes.

I didn't do it for Andy though, I made it myself, he didn't ask me to make it. I Wasn't being serious at all though, I was making fun of previous threads Andy had made.

It's still spam though and it's still gonna cause drama.

I called someone fat on DS, thought I might have got an infraction for it or something [if they give them]. Cus calling someone fat on here, then you'd definitely get an infraction as I know...

Once I got banned here for having a build-up of infractions, when I got like two infractions within the same minute of each other so I didn't have chance to read one first, before I got banned. I'm still waiting on that infraction to be taken away

What are the rules on infraction points?

Well if you broke the rules twice and we're aware of it then you're gonna get two infractions, I'm guessing these two infractions were for seperate incidents as we can't infract a post twice.

Infractions match the severity of the rule breaks and if the poster is a repeat offender. So if you insulted someone you might get a warning or one point if you haven't had any other infractions but if you've got other infractions the points tend to be higher. Typically the amount of points for repeatedly insulting people is 3 although we will give more if that doesn't do the trick for example.

What people don't understand most of the time is that with the infraction system it's down to the poster, the more the play up the more severe the infractions and bans but if they can learn from the rule breaks and behave then they can get a clean slate eventually as all infractions have a set time limit.

We only tend to outright ban multiple accounts or spambots outright these days, all the temp bans are down to the infraction system.
