What a bloodyminded curmudgeon he is - why not just wear the poppy in the run up to the 11th, especially as he is on television, as this may encourage or remind others to buy theirs? What a completely pointless point he is making, the idiot. Any respect I had for him has gone out the window.

The proceeds go to the Royal British Legion which helps support serving troops, ex-servicemen and women and their dependants, the more money they can raise the better.

First time you've ever posted to me and you feel it necessary to be a little aggressive. Nice.

YES I've read the article and I still say he has no respect. The fact he won't wear a poppy on the run up to Remembrance Sunday (which, incidentally, isn't on 11th November) speaks volumes about him.

Remembrance day is on the 11th November, Remembrance Sunday is the second sunday in november... you have the silence on the 11th. and IMO it's more respectful to wear the Poppy on the right day, rather then wearing it on meaningless days leading up

I never wear a poppy either, I always buy one but I never wear it. I don't feel the need to show off with one, too many people I know just use them to score points and don't really respect what it stands for.

Just because someone chooses not to wear one doesn't mean they don't respect those that died, for me at least I just don't feel the need to shove it in other people's faces going 'I'M BETTER THEN YOU I'VE GOT COMPASSION LOOK AT MY POPPY' like so many people I know do. I'll respect the dead in my own way and good for Jon for making a stand, it's so plastic when you see them on TV just because the producers don't want to offend the viewers.

I agree with him. Most of the BBC poppies are given and the whole process is to avoid being caught out not about the war dead. Let Snow wear what he likes unless it is a C4 policy that by contract he has to abide by.

He does this every year btw

Yeah, when I need someone to explain life's simplest things to me in the simplest terms, I'm sure your name will spring to mind. No need to be so snippy just because you disagree with me, it doesn't make your argument any more valid.

The World Wars were so last century, people really need to get over it.

This. I'm the same, I bought one yesterday but I haven't worn it, I dont need to wear a poppy to be respectful of the dead.

Most people on telly do it simply for PR reasons, it's just ridiculous that they were wearing them before November this year.

I'll probably wear mine on November 11 but I dont think anyone should feel obliged to wear one, John Snow is completely right here.

Nobody should be forced to wear something they don't want to wear. Like Dezzy said, it doesn't mean they don't respect those that died. ****ing hell.
