They make the comparisions because they are extremely valid. Look at how Madonna rose to fame and then look at Lady Gaga, the only difference is that Gaga's used a lot of Madonna's phases in a short amount of time. She might base herm usic on other artists but she's definitely got Madonna to thank for how she's went about her career.

If we're gonna talk about her music, it's hardly revolutionary. Take away her image and constant manipulation of vulnerable gay people then you've got a GOOD but ordinary popstar. Her music is extremely deriative of the artists that have gone before. It's her media image that's got her where she is. Which is something Madonna did years before, she courted controversy and the Media but also managed to keep up with the times and stay relevant. That's why I'm saying Gaga owes her career to Madonna since she forged the career path Gaga's walking down now. |
