Cole is believed to have a landed a $3m (£1.92m) contract to be a judge on the US version of 'X Factor' were she will join show supremo Simon Cowell. However, the Daily Mail reports that Cole's visa application may be rejected because of the conviction which she has to declare to US immigration officials.
Immigration lawyer Susan McFadden told the tabloid: "If the conviction is for something that triggers ineligibility the person would have to appeal for a waive."
The visa application may be the least of her worries though. According to PR bigwig Mark Borkowski, Cole's Geordie accent may prove to be a bigger obstacle in her attempt to crack the US.
He told the Guardian: "The bigger risk is whether middle America is going to understand Cheryl Cole. I hope she is taking elocution lessons so that people in Vermont can understand what the hell she is saying."
Surely not? Or, as they say in Newcastle: Here's horpin' tha Cheryl's troubled porst won't kill hor American dream.

Please, I sincerely hope it doesn't affect her going, really hope if its an issue that strings can be pulled to take her to the USA and also keep her there too.
