You disbelieve the tonsitis based on the fact that he could sing. He deliberately did not practise all week, he didn't take part in the rehearsals for the same reason: to save his voice to allow him to give it as much as he could.

The man looked ready to drop on his feet after the second song, even his hair looked as though it was soaking wet, his face looked clammy and sweaty - he looked awful.

by your own admission now, you agree he looked ill. That's the bottom line - he was ill, clearly looked ill, affirmed by the all of the judges - he still was good enough to avoid the bottom two.

You don't get that for nothing. As for the whoring it comments: I think that's something you might want to direct to Katie, rather than Matt - she was the one mouthing off about what they did or didn't get up to.
