Does it annoy you when people say this? And what does this say about Eminem, to me he sounds like most other rappers? Maybe it's all to do with his colour Or maybe people are idiots

i was viewing who was online last night and a guest was viewing this thread about eminem his song called insane it was really disturbing stuff about his stepdad abusing him and i thought like why hasnt he said anything about it before like why does nobody know and then i realised he probably just made it up for that song which is totally ****ed up and sick imo

It's his Slim Shady persona in that song....I mean it's been send a million times before....theres 3 of him, Eminem, Marshall Mathers & Slim Shady.... only 1 is real......the one that talks about being a family man to his 3 daughters.....regrets in his life.....nobody ever seems to ocus on that.....

Cause he needed the shock value for the album..... its tame in comparison to what he used to rap about....

What Shaun said. None of them know nowt about rap. They just eat up the one rapper who has been fed to them on a plate since the late 90's. A bit like people who think Pendulum are this great, zany rave act or Tiesto is a god because they know very little about electronic music.

An unrealistically high number of people seem to have an absoloute disdain for rap whilst loving Eminem. Eminem is one of the few long running solo rappers to have enormous mainstream attention. He is also white and funny.

A coincidence it is not. Most people who already hate rap and see no reason to grow an appreciation for it are not going to throw on an LP by the Wu Tang Clan. They will, however, see Shady and his chums muck about in nice, naughty four minute at a time dosages.

I'm talking more about his career in general I guess. He was already huge and loved by non rap fans before We Made You.

Also the lack of funny videos seems to run simultaneous with his dropping share. I wonder how mute the reception would have been to his latest stuff without Rihanna there to lend her voice to that track. I think a lot of people understandably see him as being a lot more bland these days.

I agree with a lot of that he needs to move away from the whole "I'm sober" thing, there's good songs on recovery that dont mention the whole drug/drink thing....

As for the Rihanna thing I'm not sure, I'd say you could be right but then again who knows?? I really just want an album of hatred without any guests (apart from some unknowns...I'd like a song with Yelawolf to see what he'd be like now that he has the financing to produce a half decent song). Something old school, sadly as I've said before Eminem is dead he died with halfway through Encore. Now we have Marshall Mathers and glimpses of Slim Shady.....it works for me at the minute so I'm not gonna complain too much

OK In One, I'll bite. I'm pretty much allergic to rap, but will listen to Eminem and the main reason is that I think he's a very clever and competent lyricist. I love poetry and literature and the shoite that normally passes for lyrics in rap offends my ears. I also think that Eminem's moments of misogyny are tongue in cheek, whereas a lot more of it, well, isn't. Having said all of that, I do think he's a bit of a controversy ***** and has sacrificed a lot of his credibility by pushing the envelope way too far. I really didn't like the Rihanna thingy. Very crass, I thought.

Example is that leaked track 'Cocaine' great song with a pretty much unknown in, don't think it's that old either. And that "We Made You" is almost as back as "Fack" Almost... lol
