His flow isn't totally there in it. He changes half way through and goes too fast sometimes.

I also think that Eminem's moments of misogyny are tongue in cheek, whereas a lot more of it, well, isn't. Having said all of that, I do think he's a bit of a controversy ***** and has sacrificed a lot of his credibility by pushing the envelope way too far. I really didn't like the Rihanna thingy. Very crass, I thought.
How many other rappers have you tried? Genuine Hip Hop artists or todays muck?

Wu Tang, Public Enemy, Tupac, KRS-One ... those boys can string a meaningful lyric together as well as Eminem ever could.

I think I read cocaine was missing a verse

Obviously it wasn't mastered either which is why it sounded kinda scratchy

That's why I like Dre, you'd never catch him working with the likes of Rihanna or Katy Perry

Snoop and Em

I do always wonder if Biggie and 2pac would've sold out

I dunno, I guess he stands out for various reasons - he writes witty lyrics, he makes pops at various figures in popular culture, his music is radio friendly, the anger behind some of his songs is remarkable, he's done collaborations with the right sort of people at the right sort of time (Dido at her peak, Rihanna at her peak to give two examples off the top of my head) to remind everyone he's still on top of his game. Sure he's had a few misfires but most artists have; I think he's that accessible bridge between pop and the rap genre, in the same way that Jay Z or Kanye West are, for example.

Dido was pretty much an unknown at the time. She shot to fame after working with him.
