And Channel five would ask an ex housemate to go to the opening with such a narrow timescale (61 days) because ex housemates will just clear their diaries and wait for the phonecall wouldnt they? Because, well its channel 5 isnt it?

I believe the housemates that went into the UBB house had only two or three weeks notice. Certainly one or two that had been rejected had only a week's notice. That was for an event lasting two and a half weeks not one evening. 61 days is quite a long notice period.
