Week 4 Highlights

Task

Housemates got to choose this week's task from a large back catalogue of previous tasks that they could recreate. The popular choice was the box task, whereby housemates had to stay in a box, whoever lasted the longest won the task. The winner of this task would receive a special prize which would be revealed to the winner at the end of the task. The housemates lasted as follows:

9th place - Stacey - 22 minutes, 8th place - Stu - 24 minutes (hilariously shouting he needed to pee before he theatrically rose out of his box, breaking the silence rule), 7th place - MrGaryy - 46 minutes, 6th place - arista - 1 hour 14 minutes, 5th place - Shaun - 1 hour 32 minutes, 4th place - Kerry - 1 hour 58 minutes, 3rd place - Scott - 2 hours 19 minutes, 2nd place - Smithy - 2 hours 35 minutes, 1st place - Novo - 3 hours 4 minutes

Novo was summoned to the Diary Room shortly after emerging victorious and was informed of his prize. There were three new housemates available to enter the house, but Novo had the power of choosing when they got to enter. Ninastar, Jessica and ukturtle, the three new housemates, were ready to go into the house at any time - Novo decided to put off making a decision until after the nominations were made for that week's eviction.

Nominations

MrGaryy: arista - because arista's new costume, Ghostface from the Scream movies, was creeping him out & Novo
Novo: Smithy - he reflected that it would be amusing if Smithy got evicted before Ninastar entered the house & Shaun
Scott: Smithy - for getting angry at him for having a laugh & Kerry
Shaun: Stacey & Novo
Smithy: Scott - because he jumped on top of his bed and broke one of the springs and had then told Stacey that Smithy had broken it during some 'private time' to wind him up, causing Stacey to spread the rumour & Stacey for spreading the rumour about him.
Stacey: Smithy for having a wank in his bed and breaking a spring & Stu
Stu: Smithy because he reckoned by now Lady GaGa's new song would be everywhere and it was just unfair on Smithy to have not heard it by now & Kerry

Eviction

Novo still had the power to decide when the new housemates would enter, and so he spent the rest of the week mulling this decision over. He spoke to Big Brother and asked what would happen if he got evicted and he still hadn't made the decision, and he was informed that he would have to make the decision during his eviction interview. Novo decided to take his decision to the bitter end with him, stating that it would make for an interesting interview to put new housemates in if he got evicted, and it would wind Smithy up if he let the new housemates in after he got evicted. The editing biased towards Novo in the run up to this eviction swung survival in his favour, and Smithy was evicted with 56.77% of the public vote. Smithy's interview with Zee came to its conclusion and then the footage cut back to the house where Big Brother asked Novo to 'make the decision' while the housemates were gathered in the living room area. He did so, and the three new housemates (Ninastar, Jessica and ukturtle) entered the house one by one. Smithy looked heartbroken as Ninastar entered the house, wishing that he had survived.


VTs

Ninastar is staring at the camera. "Do I just talk into it?" The interviewer confirms her question. "HI!! I'm Caitlin and I love foxes and stuff!!!" She is leaning forward manically and falls off her chair, raising a huge laugh from the crowd which can be heard over the VT. "Oops.." Caitlin exits the limousine to enormous cheers and enters the house.

Jessica is shaking her head at the interviewer. "People used to bully me and say mean things about eggs, it was so not stunning." She scratches her nose and shakes her head again at an inaudible question. "No, I don't sound like a bogger, have you been talking to Karl?" The crowd cheers for her and she makes her way into the house.

ukturtle does an to the camera. "My name's Ben and I like to travel. I've led quite an interesting life so far but I rarely stay in the same place for too long, so I think living in the Big Brother house is going to be quite a challenge for me, because there is no escape from it." Ben steps out of the limousine and is greeted with huge cheers, one person in the crowd (who is holding a BEN WILL YOU NIALL ME?! sign) throws his underwear at him.
