Amazon is paying record label Interscope the $4 minimum which means that they DO therefore qualify for soundscan chart sales. Its only Interscope that can't sell to the public for less than $4. Amazon are taking the loss to attract new buyers to their site and try and put a dent in Apples huge dominance.

Even after the 0.99c offer it was sold by Amazon for a much lower than normal $6.99. Plus it was released a day early in America to gain an extra days sale. Then all the Gaga fans multi buying like crazy(like Bieber fans). All just to gain huge first week sales and hence huge hype. But it's cheating and cheapens the charts credibility.

Apparently in Germany they have a chart based on money made rather than numbers sold. So if you sell half price you basically have to sell twice as much as a full price to be equal in the charts etc This sounds more fair to me and make it a more level playing field.

Oh well I never knew that, bit sneaky of them. I expect she's gained loads of sales through that deal then, thousands must have bought it for 0.99c whilst it was available.

She's still expected to sell more than 900,000 copies of the album though, which in this day and age is very impressive.

It was a good marketing tactic, I'm not gonna lie. But the Amazon thing was only for a day. It was a clever move by her though.

I can't even see Hair on there at all.

And TEoG is amazing kmt.

Hopefully it'll go higher when the video drops. The thing is, half of her songs are on there about 4 times because people are buying them from the album as well and not just the single release.
