With the 11+ I had to sit - the verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning tests are basically the sort of stuff you'd expect to see in an IQ test, right?

NVR: 132 (98%).

It depends what type of IQ test you are referring to. You'll have to endeavor to be more specific. The questions you should expect to be on an 11+ would be on standardised, NFER nelson, tests. If you're referring to a general IQ test, you should expect to see such things as: shape, puzzles, memory, visualisation, etc. Going by what you said about the 11+ exams, eliminating the mathematics and English, yes, you should generally expect to see such things as you've listed on an IQ test.

You didn't say you "qualified" for Mensa, I asked if you were a member and you said you were. Strange thing is, Redway... you said in your opening post "Haven't even backed this up from a reliable source, but, apparently, 140. Probably from some ****ty website, though." Mensa wouldn't accept you on that basis, so how did you join, exactly?

No, I mean that I had an IQ of 140 from some crap website, but MENSA did indeed accept me. I cannot recall the actual score, but I was in the 99th percentile rank, which would be between 133 and 138.

It's written 'Mensa', not 'MENSA'. But you know that, right, being a member.

That's very high. 125 is the 95th percentile; 126 is the 96th percentile, i.e. you were in at least the top 5th percentile (approximately). That converts to a moderately high score.

Now, you can form the confidence band. Given the fact that you're within the 116 and 132 band (although this can vary from time to time, especially with results from different tests, altogether). To gain a confidence band of, say, 125, which you have provided, you'd subtract 7 and plus 4. We can be 90% certain that your score is between 118 and 129 (moderately high). With 126, we'd just plus one; we can be 90% certain that your true score is between 119 and 130 (moderately/extremely high, in reference to the latter region of the formed confidence band).

That's very good!

And last time I did my IQ (on one of those crappy websites) it reckoned I was 160 or so. The time before that I was about 145. I doubt very much my IQ has rose that much for no reason

It's Latin. Like the word 'Mensa'. And there's no hyphen.

What is your problem?
No, it does not take a hyphen. In addition you spelt 'vice' wrong, genius.

Excuse me. The older a compound is in use, the more chances to it being written in one word, and vice versa. The hyphenated version tends to be a mid-way stage.
