On number 4, wouldn't you do 88x4 before taking it away from 100?
And, on number 5, doesn't 27x3 = 81? I'm not trying to correct you or anything, I'm just wondering where I've gone wrong.[/QUOTE] On Q4, you'd do anything in the brackets first. So you'd have 100 - 88 X 4. Now, 88 X 4 = 352. 100 - 352 = 252. So, yes, you're right. Don't know why I've done that. On Q5, 27 X 3 does indeed = 81. Now, you'd have 81 - 6, which is now a simple subtraction sum, and you'd get 75. You were right. You haven't gone wrong; it's me not thinking properly.

IQ isn't even about maths like that. IQ is intelligence potential basically not how good you are at certain subjects. Thats why online IQ tests are completely BS.
You can have a genius IQ but not apply yourself and be extremely unintelligent.

Yeah, I was about to say this. The IQ tests I've done have been more geared towards logical thinking than academia.

Well, it depends. In actual context, IQ tests don't tend to cover the pure subjects, e.g. Maths, but rather cover techniques, e.g. visualisation, memory, problem-solving, etc, so it's fair to say they only cover the more visual form of intelligence. But, on the other hand, schools have conducted standardised tests, which relatively have the same range (except they don't go beyond 140), in English, Mathematics and NVR (non-verbal reasoning) since 1985, so, if you're in your 30s and under, your school probably would have covered those tests, anyway, so I think it's safe to say that we now have sufficient enough evidence to say that the IQ of a person can be, more or less, measured to a basic degree of accuracy, at least.

Whatever the highest IQ is, that's me.

200+.
Did you get my advice about getting your iPOD fixed? Glad you slapped the dick, lol. But, if you haven't already seen it, go to your ranting thread about you getting your iPOD fixed, and then look at my post (final page). Sound. Last edited by Redway; 28-07-2011 at 11:22 PM. |

I've seen a lot of threads where a significant number of people claim a high IQ. I am just wondering... is anyone on here actually a member of Mensa?
