lying in the diary room is what all of them should be doing. There are 3 prizes in this game. Grand prize half a million, second prize i forget what it is something like 20 grand right? and then America's favourite which also get's like 20k right? so why not play for America's favourite at the same time as playing the str8 game?
There;s not reason to tell the truth to the diary room, just like in BBUK, yu are talking to the audience which votes for the prize.
