Wow this is big figures...
£13million including previews! Making it the biggest opening ever for a UK comedy. Haven't seen it yet but I'm glad it's done well as it will encourage more UK films being made. It's important to see them succeed at the box office. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/inbetweener...114723123.html The film version of TV hit The Inbetweeners has raked in more than £13 million in a matter of days - making it the biggest ever opening weekend for a UK comedy. The spin-off from the E4 show has now overtaken Bridget Jones: Edge Of Reason, which was the previous biggest opener with £10.4 million. The Inbetweeners movie sees show regulars Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison heading off on their first "lads' holiday" with a wild trip to Malia in Crete. It took £13.2 million since its opening, including previews. Producer Chris Young said: "We are thrilled that The Inbetweeners Movie is the biggest opening of all time for a UK comedy." The third biggest all-time UK comedy was Wallace & Gromit: Curse Of The Were-Rabbit with £9.4 million. |
