Favourite trick of mine was to offer a ten pound note to anyone who could hold it tight wrapped around their forearm and burn through it with a cigarette end, god there really are some numpties in the world, the amount of free beer I got with that one.

And the amount of people walking round with little round burns on their forearms

Deeper more serious burns destroy the nerves in the area so dont hurt as much.

And I can prove it, I once left my leg in a fire once, didnt feel a thing after the first ten minutes of intense hellish pain. When the leg was all charred and cripsy it didnt hurt at all.
Is this why big cuts dont hurt, while papercuts nearly kill you?

I always thought that was something to do with adrenaline

I have a huge scar on my hand, done with a piece of glass when very drunk...trying to prove to my mate that this piece of glass wasnt sharp ( ) I did not feel a thing, even though I could actually see my tendons and everything. It wasnt even because I was drunk either, because even the next day when I went to get it stitched...because it hadnt stopped bleeding all night...it still didnt hurt :/

Just wait until you get a kidney stone and you need morphine.
