Body found at home of ex-'Hollyoaks' star Phina Oruche



A young woman's body has been found at the Liverpool home of former Hollyoaks actress Phina Oruche, according to reports.

Paramedics were called to the home of Oruche, 39, yesterday morning after receiving a 999 call reporting that a woman was "not moving", The Mirror says. It is thought that the 25-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The individual in question has not been formally identified. Reports say that the death is currently being treated as unexplained and a postmortem examination will be carried out at a later date.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to the scene, at a house in Ampthill Road, Aigburth just after 11am yesterday. Paramedics attended and the woman was declared dead at the scene."

Meanwhile, one local resident told the Liverpool Echo: "The people in there haven't been in that house for very long, just a few months I think. The woman who owns the house has a little boy and she always smiles and says hello."

Oruche has appeared in a number of TV shows over the years, including Footballers' Wives and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Most recently, she had a six-month stint playing Gabby Sharpe on Hollyoaks, which ended in late 2010 when the Sharpe clan were written out of the teen soap.
