Don't contribute to it then - no one is forcing you.

If you cannot see what is wrong with having a food fight - you've clearly never experienced real hunger, or given two hoots for anyone who has.

Can I clarify that I dont think they were wrong to have a food fight at all. It happens every year, I just do not particularly like it, but I am used to it now. Other food fights have been much more fun too

However, I CAN understand Aaron getting pissed about it.

This is my stance and I shall not move from here nor be told that I'm overreacting (as I dont think I am)

Its Big Brother for goodness sakes a positive is that the company that makes frosted flakes are probably delighted to see their product all over the TV (and the floor)
Who said BB scraps were sent anywhere.

We're talking about people deliberately ruining good food. Clearly you think that's hilarious.

I don't and I'm not alone.

I think the thing that surprised me most was the fact only Aaron found it as bad as I would have of all those in the house, had they been throwing around and destroying cigarettes there would be hell to pay from the smokers.

Objects, toys are different, pillow fights etc too, even perhaps one box of cereal but to have ruined so many is pathetic and their punishment should have been, that I would have given them anyway, no task for a shopping budget this week and only a basic shopping budget given since they seem to have food to throw around.

It's not fun, in this day and time with food prices soaring and people in need here and abroad, it is plainly wrong.
OOh low blow referee...

No harm apart from the big waste of food however, I have this battle with other students often, I don't mind fun in the house I share with some but I draw the line at food being wasted. That really annoys me.When I go shopping I see elderly people not able to afford things like cereal that they were just wasting.

Still though I doubt you'd agree with me no matter what.My only reference to a comment from you was that I just pointed out why the housemates have to clean the house and that the reason the task rooms are not really cleaned by them is because people are employed and paid to do it.

why do you even care so much if they waste food the excuses people are making for Aaron are whats hilarious... they were all just having some harmless fun, if he really cared he would have been out there with a dustpan and brush helping to clean up, and was he? nope he was in bed having a strop ..again

I'm asking you again, because I'm not asking you if it's fun, harmless or not - I am asking you if you think it is right that perfectly good food should be wasted in this way.

I can only presume that you do think it's right.

To see such a waste of food is disgraceful, as well as wrong on many levels.

As long as you said the same about Harry & the 500 Bananas you have a great point. Else...... Oh Deary me

I don't believe he ordered the bananas with the intention of them being destroyed, stamped upon.

and yes, in respect of that same scenario: I felt exactly the same when Jay threw the coffee, teabags, sugar etc all into the bins. Exactly the same.

Just when I thought double standards on this board could not get more ludicrous, this thread crops up. Wow.

I think it provided one of the best comedic moments of the entire series. Aaron sitting in the bedroom alone with his head in his hands whilst Tom and Alex (?) literally fall through the door

I personally don’t care about the mess. To paraphrase an Aaron fan from last week’s toy task - ‘as long as it makes good TV, why should we care about the state of the house?’

'If' it's not going to be eaten, then BB should donate it to the homeless or needy then. Not allow it to be ruined.

Once the money has been spent on it, it is no one elses business what happens to the food.

Do you think Harry & Aaron believed they would all get eaten before they went off?

I just found it incredible that Jay was raging (Roid-Rage very probably!) about the lack of food earlier in the week but then he's quite happy to participate in wasting a large part of the little they do have.

You could call him a hypocrite but he wouldn't understand what you meant

I could totally see Aaron's point but he did kinda' over-react. But then quite a few of the housemates have been over-reacting to situations in there. Jay about not getting the luxury food budget, Alex (and more ridiculously Tom!) about getting splashed with a little bit of water, Aden about getting a ****e haircut (what does he expect when he let's a moron play barbers ?).
I just guess with the artificial and intense enviroment in the house it just makes people react in extreme and heightened ways. It happens many, many times every year and i'm sure it'll happen many more times yet this year.

That is simply not the case, there are many homeless people in this country even, more people on the breadline than for decades, there are kitchens and Charities always in need of anything to help feed them.

In London there are loads of places where cereal donated and other food provide breakfasts and nourishment for people who are homeless etc.

Everything makes a difference and it all can be a good difference if people are not wasteful and care enough,if they don't give a hoot for others then that's for them and a different story of course.
