I don't mind addressing the point again at all, however there are slight differences.
Having said that, I said I didn't like or approve of any food being wasted by housemates or them being allowed to waste it even by BB I would add to that now.

I have addressed the banana issue,my views must be pretty clear as to that part now.
However doing a quantifying and qualifying example to food wasted, the main difference is,which still does not justify the wasting of any food at all in my view. the porridge was cooked, it was in effect no use to anyone else at all after being cooked and part eaten. The cereal last night, has a good shelf life, was still in the sealed boxes and totally wasted not in small amounts but box after box.

There is a vast difference of 'quantity' in throwing around,(still wrong in my view), a couple of bowls of porridge as opposed to throwing around a lot of boxes of cereal.

there is further a vast difference as to 'quality' in that throwing around food that has been cooked as opposed to throwing around food that is still perfectly in its original state, therefore unused and in that being perfectly able to be eaten by others as opposed likely to the cooked food.

My point is no food should be wasted but last night was wilful destruction of perfectly edible food for no logical reason at all,not as I said before by just teenagers but also grown adults.

Thanks Suze,I am so glad I found this forum,as I don't live in the UK,it's nice to read how everyone is viewing BB.
And somewhere to vent(within reason)how we all feel when we see something that makes our blood boil....or makes us laugh.
I do think BB should have had a mixture of ages,I could just imagine someone my age being in their with these kids

Was Aaron hypocritical here? Yes. But most people are very hypocritical by nature, so it's not really a big deal.

I think you need to read through again I have on at least 2 posts, obviously not to your agrrement but that's hardly surprising.

Quite frankly I would prefer you don't respond to my posts because I think you just look for arguments and attempt to ridicule.
If I am wrong in that,I apologise but it's all you do to me.

No your right its no big deal at all trying to attack one housemate for doing something and ignoring it when others do it is just leaving yourself twisting in the breeze though theres no defending it really.

It is only a big deal if you are boo hooing in the house when you are no different to the ones you are critisizing.

Ive read it all thanks you said the banana waste was different because that was big brothers fault for giving them takeaways
Who elses fault will it be next that most of them are rotting in the store room? the lightbulb manafacturerers for making bulbs that raise the ambient temparature of the room by 0.161 degrees????

TBH, as far as I'm concerned, when members - and several of them, provide very clear answers repeatedly - and other 'opposing' members continue asking the same questions over & over again - the moderators should be stepping in - as it's clear what the intention is - less to discuss the topic, but more to harrange. That's my opinion of course.

If posters are coming onto the thread for a wind up session, rather than a sensible discussion, that defeats the entire purpose of what is meant to be an adult discussion.

True.

I did ask you rather politely what your views on Aaron wasting porridge was, only to have you post a rather condescending reply towards me, attempting to send me on a futile treasure hunt around the forum looking for your views on the porridge matter, after searching for ten minutes I then realised you havn't posted anything about the said porridge. So in my opinion your clearly diverting the chance of discussion.

Nothing has been answered or cleared up in a sensible manner only excuses blaming other people if the moderators need to step in pyramid then i suggest it is to close the thread as nobody seems to be able to defend the point made in the OP in a satisfactory way all i have seen is increasingly strange and wonderful ways of blaming other people.

It's nice to know that you value Mids, input to the extent you spent a while looking for a porridge post It's nice when forum members respect others views that way

I will say it again - read the posts.

Besides which parmnion - this is not about one plateful of porridge which already had been made and cooked, with any surplus being thrown out. It is an entirely different concept altogether.

This is about deliberately opening brand new packets of foodstuff - many of them - for no other intent other than to ruin & waste good food - deliberately.

It would only take one clear and concise post on why the people that are so offended by this didnt give two hoots about other cases of waste and mess that have occurred in the house to close the matter but nobody it seems can answer that leaving the only conclusion that the entire thread was just used as a cheap way to attack other housemates.
If anybody was able to prove otherwise it would have been done by now so with that i will leave it.

There is no need for any thread closure - people should be respectful of other people's opinions without harranging them when they don't get an answer they simply don't like.

your reply here does make me consider that perhaps that is the sole intention of some posters though - to have the thread closed.

I think you will find that many posters have provided excellent replies defending Aaron's position during last night's debacle - some however simply don't agree, and that is what having individual opinions is about.

It has been a hugely popular thread given the amount of replies, and some of the quality replies - so all in all, it's been interesting all round I'd say.

Hang on your the one wanting to involve the mods in the thread for no reason
The reason people keep coming back to post is not because its popular its because you and joey keep ignoring the posts and points that are raised and then pretending they are matters that have been cleared up
Anyhow catcha later alligator

I am ignoring nothing.

The thread is not about one small bowl of porridge, it is not about Harry ordering bananas.

It is, very clearly, very obviously, very specifically, about what happened last night - in which many housemates destroyed and wasted perfectly good, unopened foodstuff - many packets, completely trashed the living room in the resulting mess - and Aaron's reaction to it.

We are told constantly by the moderation team to keep on topic, and that is precisely what I am doing.

Aaron was wrong to be annoyed as he not only threw porridge about in the past but also trashed the task room in a similar manner. So imo, Aaron had no right to say the things he did or act the way he did because it made him out to be a hypocritical fool.

'Trashing' the task room did not involve wasting and ruining brand new, unopened foodstuffs. Completely different situation altogether.

I do respect that you feel that he is being hypocritical because he threw away some already cooked porridge (which if he had not eaten, would have been disposed of anyway). I don't see that anywhere in the same vein but I do respect that you see it that way.

I'm not entirely sure what this has to do with the topic of the thread - or what it has to do with whether Aaron was correct to act in the way he did?
