No, he dosen't not like confrontation, it just isn't the tactic he chooses to use.

Nah, him melting in the face of direct confrontation, in order to strike back through sulks and behind the back manipulations is exactly what makes people say he could qualify as just that, or at least see him as an emotional bully.

Note: I don't say he is an 'abusive husband'. I think thats an extreme label which he dosen't qualify for.
