Been to most of the big clubbing cities in the UK, been right across Europe and I can honestly say Flamingos is one of the best clubs I've ever been in

I haven’t been on here for ages. I still watched BB to the bitter end but Channel 5 just churned it out, focused too much on CBB and left the civ series to die. I loved CBB22 and BB19 for being like old school series but think the damage was already done. Anyway that, and life in general, is why I haven’t posted for years.

So me and Dan knew each other from this forum, met in person at the BB12 auditions and then had our spontaneous weekend in Blackpool. Since then we had other good times like being on BOTS the night Andrew Stone was evicted, being in the crowd when Denise Welch won CBB, random February weekend in Brighton where we missed our last train and couldn’t get a hotel room so huddled together and almost froze to death in a phone box, saw the re-release of Titanic in 3D where we snuck in some mini bottles of wine and then Dan moved back to Wales.

I visited him one time in his attic room. He’ll slate it but I liked it cos it was cosy. Anyway we were arranging to go to New York for New Years but we got absolutely trashed and spent the whole weekend feeling sorry for ourselves and watching the Coronations Street and Emmerdale omnibuses. Still managed to book our hotel but after Dan did some investigating he said we should cancel cos apparently it was a right crack den.

Time and distance came between us but every so often we’d chat online until this year he does his spontaneous thing again and FaceTimes me where we reminisce about all the good times and says I’m welcome to see his new flat. And I took him up on that...

Last weekend I packed my bags and made my way. I find the address and he’s now in some beautiful flats. He’d already booked tickets for us to go on a boat trip and to see The Lion King so we went in to town. There we had a couple of drinks, Welsh cakes and got on the boat. We think we gatecrashed a family’s day out on the boat but hey, they didn’t own the damn thing. Dan then pulls out some bottles of water which turned out to be full of vodka. Old habits and all that jazz. So we carried on drinking at the cinema and got a bit merry to Hakuna Matata.

So we go back to Dan’s flat and start on the wine and get carried away laughing and joking about when I’m like “Sh!t we still need the ingredients for dinner!” I was already thankful he was letting me stay so wanted to cook for him anyway. BIG MISTAKE...

Probably shoulda prepared this before drinking as on the way to Aldi I dive on to the road, face first. I thought I’d brush it off and just laughed but Dan was panicking and freaking out over it. I said to him “Don’t worry about it. The supermarket’s just there - lets get the ingredients” but by this time noticed blood dripping all over my shirt.

As if I didn’t feel spoilt enough earlier he only goes and chucks me in the shower, cleans the cuts on my face, top lip, knees and shoulder. At this point we both take the p!ss out of my fat lip looking like Pete Burns so start doing our best impersonations of that absolute legend.

Not wanting to ruin the weekend, I say I don’t wanna go to A & E and eventually Dan agrees we can relax and use his Playstation VR. We played Rush of Blood til 5 in the morning before he rustles up some grub before bed.

I completely appreciate how lucky I am that there was no major damage as things could’ve been much worse but I don’t regret it happening because I finally got to catch up with one of my besties. If I didn’t feel spoilt by the day anyway I sure as hell did now. Next time we meet I’m repaying Dan. I absolutely love that goofy little ******er and I’m glad BB and TiBB brought us together.
