Thumbs down Leona Lewis to cover NIN's "Hurt", "Iris" and "Colorblind"

Leona Lewis is set to cover the Nine Inch Nails' 1994 track 'Hurt' on her forthcoming EP.

Famously covered in 2002 by Johnny Cash, Lewis will feature the song on 'Hurt: The EP', which is set for release on December 9. The video to Johnny Cash's version of the song was named the Best Video of All Time by NME earlier this year. Scroll down to watch it.

Lewis' EP will also contain covers of 'Iris' by the Goo Goo Dolls and 'Colorblind' by Counting Crows.

Originally set for release in November, Lewis' third album 'Glassheart', will now be released on March 26, 2012. Lewis' forthcoming album sees songwriting and production from Emeli Sande, Ryan Tedder, Ammo, Fraser T Smith, Steve Robson, Autumn Rowe and Sandy Vee.

Confirmed tracks on the album include 'Collide' with Avicii, 'Trouble', 'Mountains', 'Glassheart', 'Fire Flies', 'Blank Page' and 'Sugar'

Can't see her doing "Hurt" justice at all, thought the "Colourblind" was talking about Darius from Pop Idol's song at first

I think her covers are brilliant. And I agree with MM&I, I hated Stop Crying Your Heart Out before Leona covered it. Its amazing

Her covers like her music are soulless, you'd get more emotion from a rock. She has a somewhat decent voice but that's it. It says something about an artist when their biggest hits tend to be covers.

EDIT: I can tell you what they're actually gonna sound like, they'll be piano led affairs that'll last for roughly about four and a half minutes each and around two thirds of the way through the song some god awful gospel choir will kick in as she screeches her way through another round of the main verse which she'll repeat until the song ends.

All her covers are the same thing over and over, she takes unique songs and just makes them same-y.

None of her songs sound like that, When i say similar things about Kate Bushs songs, I'm told I'm trolling. So stop trolling..

Whats wrong with giving out music to fans that expected the album this year. Theese songs aren't all going to the album.
