I've been playing LO on and off for a while now, so far I think there's strong elements in it but a lot of it feels cliched, that being said what occurs after you meet Mack and Cooke is probably one of the most moving scenes I've played in a game.

The problem with XIII's story was that they focused on the character drama, which was done well except for Snow, at the expense of an overall plot. Lightning and Hope were great characters while Fang and Vanille were probably the most developed while Sazh wasn't overly important but he was likable.
The less said about Snow the better.
