If you wanted a very serious debate on God and his existence, perhaps you should have raised your thread in the Serious Debate side of the forum instead of General Chat.

I didn't want a debate, I was just asking if other people were religious. That's why the title of this thread is 'Are you religious?'

No I'm not religious but I would never judge any one who is.

I believe that it was created to try to control people, and once it dies out something else will take it's place.

To an extent: me either thoug I can't abide those that would be termed 'bible thumpers' and want to ram their own religion/beliefs down others necks).

The only thing I always say to my mates who are religious, go to Chapel and do believe is that they have something I don't .... belief.

I kind of agree with this, the big bang theory and evolution just seem more logical to me, but to religious people it's probably the other way round.

I am not sure about it dying out soon though, people will always want to believe in a higher power /afterlife / karma etc, it helps a lot of people get through the daily grind.

I am not against religious people in general , but many wars have been fought in the name of religion which I don't understand
