Maybe because he has all this celebrity and adulation without having one modicum of talent that would mean he deserved it. He has nothing to back it up with but a bad haircut.

I don't know what you mean, when i was 18, i was akward and insecure, and so were all of my friends, so i think you don't really remember what it's like to be 18. He seems li8ke an asshole, and not at all like most 18 y/o's to me.

I don't find him attractive in the slightest, but then he is about 10 years too young for me anyhow.

I don't really know too much about him and his music but the only thing I can think of is I always found Pete Doherty strangely attractive because he had a lost soul / rock n' roll persona which to me was hugely charismatic (I also loved his music as well though) whereas most people found him repulsive..

I think the main reason for all the hate is that he was given a massive opportunity, that thousands would give their right arm for, & he threw it all away. He was arrogant enough to believe that he was already some big rockstar & didn't give a sh*t. He went out every night, getting pi**ed, drugged up & shagging countless (poor) random girls & then stood on stage making some half hearted effort at singing...

So basically he is a twat & an ungrateful immature one at that.
