I fail to see firstly why any strike should be necessary and secondly why such a directive needed to be given by any cabinet Minister,worse still the PM.
The very slightest hint that something may soon be in short supply for a time,immediately has the less responsible and selfish going out gathering all they can.

In January a bad forecast for the weather was made predicting arctic temperatures and lot's of frost and ice likely, in less than 3 days the supermarket near me had no salt.
Crazy. also as pointed out above, the advice given to fill cans and store petrol in garages was not only foolish but dangerous too.
