Default more then 50 million raised but no sign of relief

more then 50 million raised but no sign of relief

i am sorry,
this is one of these fake smiles,
because on all 17 races,
no distance is made, even if we do the miles.
most of the money will waste,
Africa will be in no better position,
this time next year please run again,
in reverse as its the tradition.
these parts of earth,
lack resource,
there's no food, money medicine,
but there's plenty of time for intercourse.
if there government are failing,
then our help will never reach,
surely as we are all on earth,
advice and guidance we can teach.
Africa is in a rut,
there people have no freedom,
what we should be offering is safe sex advice,
comic reliefe money should supply Durex and femmedom.

(the reason i write this poem is because each year we are in the same position and no further along - i think its cruel to be sending money and not helping the country change so there is less corruption and there own government are looking after there own people and they are all working on the same side - just woundered what our views are?)

There are LOTS of cities in Africa that do have their own clean running water and modern indoor plumbing systems, so let's not paint all of Africa with the same brush.

There are PLENTY of places in China that also do not have access to clean running water and indoor plumbing, but we all talk about China as if it's so rich and modern and the rising superpower.

Yes Good Point
Tourism demands that.

Although I would no longer advise Kenya
due to those Pirates from the next nation.

Yes and China now has a
Elite, Rich , Middle, Lower Middle, Standard
and the Poor with no running water.

There were cities in Africa with good sanitation and water supplies before the advent of tourism.

Colonialism left some places with a reasonable infra structure even if they left them in a political mess.

I think the main problem with Africa is that everyone sees the sorry mess it's in and wants to help, so we end up, as the rest of the world, trying to invest money in everything problematic and as a result solve nothing. If all of the aid money was spent on sorting out water sanitation, it could be done with ease - but instead it goes to preventing AIDS, trying to cure AIDS, trying to stop war lords, ending famine, fighting malaria, building homes, starting up schools etc etc etc... I think if people stop trying to sort out societal problems and instead try to sort out basic survival problems, that'd be the best place to start. Not to trivialise those issues but it's a matter of priority. Drinking water and something to eat followed by a roof over your head. Stopping diseases shouldn't be such a huge drain of money at this point (which sounds awful but it's not meant in that way) - sinking money into AIDS research, while a noble cause, is at this moment in time somewhat fruitless because even if they have a breakthrough, all they're really doing is extending the life expectancy of people who can't even have a glass of safe water or eat as much as they want to.

oh dear, AIDS isnt strictly an African disease, its not like the rest of the world is immune to it.
Studying to prevent/ cure/ help deal with AIDS is for the whole world!
