Inspired by the ten things about me thread...
Is there anything that you can look back on and laugh...or at least be at peace with,
Even though at the time you thought it was the end of the world?

My son said the other day he remembered staying in a hotel when he was little. He said he made some nice friends and loved playing in the park there, and was sad when it was time to go home....It was a womens refuge...

A few years before the kids dad rang me from home while we were on holiday with my sis to tell me he had moved out and was moving in with someone else....

I can look back on a lot of stuff, which hurt and distressed me so much at the time, and while I can't exactly laugh at it, I can accept it was what it was, and it's in the past and I'm glad I am now at the stage in my life that it seems like a bad dream.

I like the person I am today (mostly) and I'm moulded by the things that have happened to me.

There was this guy who I was destined to be in a relationship with (he is also the only guy I genuinely 'loved' and he took my virginity ) and then he moved to London (I doubt it was because of me, but it hurt) now I don't speak to him anymore and have moved on. I was very bitter at the time.

I'm 17 now and my mum and dad split up when I was 15. At the time I thought it was the end of the world and now I look back and laugh at the state I was in. I got to a point were I would go to my school toilets and cry for an entire lunch. But once, I walked out of a lesson and I realised that I had to suck it up and pull myself together. I went to the toilets one final time to think about what I was going to do and I vowed never to cry about it again and I did just that.

Now I can look back a laugh at the entire situation, the whole thing has made me stronger and I'm a much more laid back person now. It's changed me as a person and I wouldn't have my life any other way now.

My mum got re-married and I made a speech at the reception (despite never doing anything infront of anyone, ever) and used a quote 'when a good thing goes bad, it's not the end of the world, just the end of a world'. I live by the quote now and I'm getting it tattoed on my arm in July.

When I was in year 9 so I was 13 I had a best friend. Then a new person came to the school and stole my best friend off me and was an absolute bitch spreading rumours and ****. So my 'group' of friends like ganged up against her 'group' of friends and it was like a full on war in our year group. It was totally divided. We went on a school trip to Thailand and omg the tension and fighting that occurred was hilarious but at the time it was so serious and people were proper hating. Then I told my sister (in the year above) and we spread a rumour about her being a lesbian and the whole of the upper years believed it and my side was far the largest in numbers.

We became friends like 2 months after this but it's hilarious how serious everyone in the school took it at the time, so many friendships were broken. Even the teachers knew about it.

Thats brilliant! well done you, it must have been really hard to cope with at that age.....Bet your mum is so proud

Thanks.. and she is proud of how far I've come. I used to be a complete push over and that pissed her off. Now I'm a force to be reckoned with! hahaha joke.
