I am really glad this is coming to a head now, it is a distressing storyline because sadly it likely does occur a fair bit in reality.

I find Ashley's character a very cold one, if he was a real Vicar,I doubt I would ever feel I could approach him just for his general well known comments.
Thank goodness this storyline is hopefully coming to a close and the one thing I hope it has done is open some eyes in the real world as to the abuse of elderly people by at times some of their closest relatives and also by those in charge of their care in residential homes too.

It's been hard to watch, so cruel and demoralising for the character Sandy,no one deserves to be treated that way.

i think its be hard to watch because its the least thing we exspected ie man of the cloth. dose need closure.

I am really enjoying this Chas/Cameron thing. I like Debbie, although her and Cameron have no chemistry at all.. I blame the writers for this and not the Actors!

It will be good at last to see that this storyline is moving to the full knowledge of how badly Sandy has been treated.

I hate to think that this even goes on and that elderly people are treated so badly by their loved ones, I know it goes on sadly,so I am really pleased to see this rather 'disturbing' storyline open up more from tomorrow.

joey - trust me - this is very very tame what sandy is having to go through - allot worsse dose happen - and even in care homes to - so dont think they are all safe.

You are right, My parents took an elderly friend out of a residential home she was in because of the abuse she was getting in there.

That is what has disturbed me as to this storyline too, because in reality the situation would have been far worse than we have seen, as you say this has been tame.

I tried very hard to but couldn't feel an ounce of sympathy for Ashley tonight. I am just relieved this storyline is more open now, for many reasons I have found it very hard and disturbing to watch

I don't usually get really involved in soaps but I was really egging Laurel on tonight.

ITV has slotted in a one-off Sunday episode of Emmerdale later this month.

Emmerdale will air on Sunday, May 13 at 7.30pm as Zak Dingle's breakdown storyline continues.

The extra episode makes up for the 8pm edition lost on Thursday, May 10.
