When I first came here (and strangely I've said this once today already after never mentioning the incident before) Shaun called me a santimonious ******* and I put him on ignore. And now I love him with all my heart. Funny how things turn out!

I am truly flattered to be associated with some wonderfully gifted company, but I hope no one would ever be wary of crossing swords with me. I love people with different opinions from mine so long as they can debate their point without turning it into a ridiculous and childish argument. For instance, I love MTVN and Jesus H Christ, they're two of my favourite posters on the Serious Debates thread, but I hardly ever agree with their opinions... yet they can both debate and leave the fun in it. Nothing's more miserable and exhausting than watching your debate turn into a childish, pointless tit-for-tat.

The people with real sway only post when needed, get their point over and leave the rest to meditate cogitate and inwardly digest the wisdom in their words. Not many of those sort of posters on this forum nowadays. I can see exactly where you are coming from, Ben. Can fully empathise with your fustration at the way the original post has now been subverted into a popularity contest.
