I agree. anyone who passes this off as 'yeah, but it's tradition' is not considering the welfare of the child / unborn or not

It's old tradition in some African countries to inflict terrible suffering and then offer the child as a sacrific. It's old traditon in other countries to take children to the tops of mountains after weeks /months of ardous journey to get to the summit to sacrifice an innocent child to the 'Gods'. Being an old tradition does not make it right.

If old traditions were upheld all over the world: putting children up chimneys to meet their death would still be allowed in the UK.
