Brian Dowling has been in the Big Brother house twice, he's won Big Brother twice and he's a rare exception in the world of here-today, gone-tomorrow reality TV stars - a TV personality with a lengthy career.

Now comfortably squeezed into Davina's Big Brother hosting shoes after a year at the helm, Dowling returns this week for series 13 of the daddy of reality formats.

The Irish presenter will be leading some more unsuspecting victims into the compound this week, but why do people still want to take part in Big Brother when fame and fortune seem such a long shot?
