Expected to see a discussion thread as well. Would've made one but it was nearly over at that point.

I only turned on just as Elton John was starting. He was very erm... shouty. Couldn't make sense of what he was singing most of the time (obviously I knew the words so it was more noticeable)

Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney
and Nathan @ you expecting him to be predictable. "Ob-la-Di, Ob-la-Da", "Magical Mystery Tour" and "All My Loving" weren't (k Live and Let Die was, but he didn't do Blackbird/Hey Jude )

We sure know how to put on a spectacular party,i thought it was really good, missed the beginning but from what I saw,Robbie,Kylie,Madness were good but i think for me Stevie Wonder stole the show, along with the special Jubilee song.Gary Barlow did a good job.

Well the lineup was pretty lackluster to say the least. Cheryl was just awful and she ruined a great song by Lady Antebellum, total disgrace that she was even invited. Same with the likes of JLS, Jessie J and will.i.am. Loved Elton John, Paul McCartney, Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones' rendition of "Delilah".

Prince Charles speech was very nice but of course the star of the show was The Queen herself and deservedly so. Like SaphLiike, I was annoyed at how Cheryl got a prime position behind The Queen on stage so whenever the camera focused on The Queen she was always in shot too, bet her PR team had that planned from day one. Overall though I liked it and it made me feel proud to be British.

Yes, forgot to mention him, he was great but wish he hadn't invited will.i.am to join him for "Happy Birthday". He had so many talented artists to choose from and he chose him, don't know what he was thinking.

It was an excellent show. I'll cross over to DS now for the ratings.

from the highlights I have seen I was quite sorry for her...It was on too late, it was too loud and has been said her husband was in hospital so it was probably the last place she wanted to be..
Waste of money, she would have preferred something more fitting for her years.

For a more accurate ratings analysis, here you go:

The BBC's coverage of the Diamond Jubilee Concert was seen by more than 14m viewers on Monday (June 4) night, peaking at almost 17m for the fireworks-laden finale, according to the latest official data.

The glittering concert, featuring performances from Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, and Stevie Wonder, among other artists, averaged 14.68m (57.4%) on BBC One between 7.30pm and 10.45pm.

The viewing audience peaked at 16.86m (65.4%) in the final moments, as Prince Charles paid tribute to the Queen - only the second monarch to reach 60 years on the throne - before a dazzling fireworks show lit up Buckingham Palace.

So in short the Diamond Jubilee Concert had an average of almost 15m - 14.7m - and attracted 57% of the entire audience, which is incredible. It also peaked at just under 17m - 16.9m - and accompanied by a massive 65% share of the entire audience. Simply outstanding.

They're also very similar to EastEnders' live episode's viewing figures in February 2010, which had an average of 14.91m (54.6%) and a peak of 16.58m (59.4%).

Ah now come on, it was a great show. I doubt the people in the crowd agreed with you, nor the 17m that watched

Who cares whether the Queen enjoyed it, it was a bloody good show

I don't give a flying feck who agrees with me....I thought you knew me better than that jack

I do to be fair....It was meant to be in her honour, specifically designed for her enjoyment,supposedly.....
Just proves my point really that most simply see the royals as performing seals judging by your comment...Just sit there and clap maam....thats it...Well done.

The French flag is blue on the left, white and red. The palace was lit red on the left, white and blue.

I thought it was a brilliant show really slick and well-organised, except Cheryl Cole who was hilariously bad. It's repeated on BBC1 at 3.45 this afternoon if anyone missed it and wanted to see it.
