It wasn't about him wanking, it was about them not wanting to discuss it & giggling like silly little girls at the mention of "masturbation"...

He was trying to get the point across that in this country we don't like to talk about sexual things, we find it embarrassing & taboo. He linked that to the fact that the UK has the highest rates of teenage pregnancy & STI's in Europe (all true) & mentioned how other countries are far more open about such things etc...

I'm surprised that so many missed this point, infact on Digital Spy some ridiculous posters were even trying to suggest that by talking to Caroline about it he was subjecting her to a form of sexual assault!! Unbelievable...
