I know that, but I fail to understand why they were so offended by it and yet they just decided to act as pathetic as her and do that. Especially when they seem to think they're better than Caroline anyway.

When did they say they think they're better than her I don't recall that. To not acknowledge someone is the ultimate punishment. She wasn't worth a goodbye especially when she doesn't care about anyone but herself. Good luck to herself then she's going to need it.
