Winning isn't just about the cash prize. It's about being the last housemate out of the house, leaving to the fireworks and knowing the public had you as their favourite.

Conor may end up getting an equal cash prize to the winner but just like Luke S and Ashleigh he did not have a hope of actually winning the gameshow.

I bet Conor is relieved he took the money now he knows that Deana will probably win. His massive ego would not have coped with being in the final and losing, especially to her.
