330 million americans with an estimated 300 million guns in circulation, some of which fire 100 bullets a minute....this is main reason why american gun murders per capita are so much higher than the rest of the western world....the right to bare arms was written during a civil war centuries ago....those great men did not intend it that every american including the insane and the children should carry guns capable of shooting and killing 100 people in a minute.....
the amount of insane people is probably similar in any western democracy, the difference here is 1) vastly more guns in the USA per person and overall 2) certain news channels stoke up fear hate and prejudice , which clearly affects some young impressionable often borderline pscychotic people and 3) the US spends less per head on routing out and treating mental illness However in defence of america, they do treat their soldiers far better than we do, we have only 1 military hospital they have over 1000 if you count the navy too I would also add as much as I respect the NHS and think it is a beacon of hope for the world and neu bevan who built it is my greatest ever briton...However its become to political we arent allowed to criticize it....the fact is 1) the sheer number of freeloading burocrats in middle management are costing us billions and theyre also doing an awful job 2) The standard of nursing is ofetn appallling. There have been tens of thousands of horrifying complaints of major neglect in tragic situations. yet we as a people and politicians are simply not allowed to questions nurses. why? our hospitals are 70 times mor elikely to pick up bugs like mrsa than norway and sweden. nurses forever claim theyre underpaid and over worked, I say this is often the opposite of the truth. cleaners clean the beds, not nurses, the computers do nearly all the filing by itself, porters move patients, others bring the food, all the specialists operate on them, so what do nurses actually do for their £25000 to £45000+ all thats really left to do is hand out the medicine and change the sheets after the patient leaves the room, I would also say the fact were not allowed to criticize bad nurses means the good nurses have to carry the extra worlkload. From my time in hospital beds, Ive gone days without even speaking to a nurse, theyre nealry always out of sight talking amongst themselves about their social lives or often about some self pity about how underpaid they are. back to guns americans, please dont be so sensitive here. I like the americans generally, I admire their energy, the ambition, their joi de vivre.....they helped us big time in world war 2, they give more to charities than any nation on earth, when theres a disaster they send more help than anyone.....theyve voted a black man from a very average background to president.....whereas Uk has gone backwards and become more eilitist,,,, the gap between rich and poor is bigger than ever in both nations, which is a disgrace other than the dreadful class system in the Uk, the truth is were not that much different , apart from gun laws and the nhs....Obama has closed the gap with the healthcare bill and I hope it sticks....healthcare should be free for those who cant afford it IF the US could find the stomach for a really proper analysis and debate on gun laws, they may actually come to a bipartisan view that guns are the main reason gun murders are so much higher in the US tighten up the laws massively....300 million guns lying around is just insanity this and the healthcare bill is all the socialism the US needs, the rest is all good, free market but regulate the corrupt corporate giants, encourage small to medium businesses, try to simplify the structure of local government (our local councils are so disastrous theyre beyond saving, youre system is newer and can still be moulded) Im a brit, but I still believe in the american dream |
