Default Am I the only one who...

Has never ever cared about the tasks side of Big Brother?

I mean, I like them arguing about the shopping lists, going on rations and how sometimes the whole house gets decorated in the theme of the task, but it's just something I do not care about. Big Brother for me is wholly about the forming and breaking of relationships, people interacting and seeing who gets where in the competition - tasks are often actually a distraction for me. =/

The tasks used to be good, they were 'new / exciting / funny / hard going for the hms' and really entertaining.

I think a mixture of trying to come up with new tasks that were as amusing as the 'originals' or those in the first fews shows was probably a hard act to follow:...... over the years, they have become pretty lame with very few really good ones.

I agree that the tasks somewhat distract from the housemates talking about themselves... they can use them as a mask, really. Just indulge in small talk like "what's planned today then? xxo" and so on.

I think it'd be a little boring without them (altogether), but the current production team SERIOUSLY need to stop providing some ****ty little secret mission for which the reward is another party.

Well it's true I think any of us on here could make better BB tasks than the producers at the moment.

Nah mine would be them eating Catfood for a prize fund, not the winners money though.

A lot of this is just a part of it limiting it's audience to younger people. It's about making it more childish, getting in contestants who are very young in their minds and have little of interest to say. People are either put in for their looks or just to show how stupid they are Even the Australian one is slightly better, certainly Layla, George and maybe Ray and Ryan have little to them but the others actually aren't that stupid and dull. In the British one we get maybe 4 a series at the most on CH5 who aren't thick.

Also the producers are lazy. The Tree of Temptation was a success but then they started to overuse the concept. Individual competitions for important rewards (immunity) are used very successfully in the American concept and I thought made for a more interesting mix in BB11. Ultimately you have to be tougher on HMs if it's a social experiment, and acknowledge that HMs do want to win at the end by making them fight for immunity in a regular challenge.

They have got really weaker especially this last series. Pointless doing them as well if when they win they then have interference as to the reuslt anyway.
Punishments should be a separate issue and not have involvement with the tasks.

I found them weaker and more tedious to watch this year anyway.

I think I would go with putting Mockinator in charge of tasks on BB along with Daniel-Lewis-1985 too.
He also has usually great ideas for BB.

I agree they have become too much of a 'production' with silly elaborate sets and costumes, theres really no need.
All we want is a bit of sleep depravation and sugar cube stacking...'back to basics' I say!

The tasks have always seemed manipulated to me. Some of them are really easy to pass, and others are impossible. And it seems like BB decides which weeks they'll have shopping and not. Some of the tasks are literally like why do they even bother cause they are obviously impossible and they will fail. They know if they starve them there will be more drama.

That being said i do like the tasks because they do create a lot of drama.
