However upon return to the UK its possible he could face a list of charges ie:-

Grooming a minor
Abducting a minor
Sexual Molestation
Sex with a minor
Statutory rape (of a minor)

the last 3 would be hard to prove but overall I think he's in pretty deep.I just hope he doesn't do anything drastic....

I think the longer it goes on, the longer his 'rap sheet' is going to be, so yep, they have a reason to arrest him, and if/when they do - I think some if not all of what you've listed could apply.

Given his father's fears that he may 'flip' - that's got alarm bells ringing. To me,that's indicative that he has 'flipped' before: and that his father knows the 'warning signs'.

How he flips and to what extent is the part I'd like to know....................... whatever or however - it's enough for his own father to announce that publically - and that tells me it's not a good sign.

Given the amount of press coverage on this, even in the UK - and given the holiday makers who have access to internet, who like to catch up on news etc / buy newspapers on holiday, those who browse papers at newstands and shops etc - it's strange that not one person has spotted either of them or the car.

The money situation is still one I think about - I know the French have said no ATMS appear to have been used, but no info from side re credit card usage and nothing from this end about him lifting a wad of cash or making regular unaccounted for withdrawls. This guy is meant to be married; there's a distint lack of info coming from the wife's direction - that I find surprising.

I think the French or Spanish Police need to pull their finger out and start taking this seriously, these people need to be found and found quickly, they need to up the ante and use the press to inform the public that they are wanted. They need to follow up possible sightings, they need to watch border posts, Airports,Sea Ports and Railway stations. They should already be monitoring their Credit/Cebit cards but I suspect this guy has probably got access to cash or credit cards using a bogus name.

I think time is becoming a factor as he must know he can never return to the life he had so his options are becoming more limited by each passing hour...!!!

I agree: the French and the Spanish don't appear to be putting much effort into things at all: I hope should this every happen with 'one of their own', that the UK would do the right thing and offer every possible assistance.

The bogus name/accounts: if this is the case, then far as I'm concerned, he's far more dangerous than the 'really nice guy' persona that's been projected: that's devious, cunning and imo, takes time planning etc - factoring her age into things and how long it's gone on: is pretty elaborate.

Surely that wouldn't be so hard to check up on - he'd have had to had cards sent to addressess: if not his own, then if he's used someone elses address for mail (ie; parents / friends etc) - no doubt that will be getting looked into. Mind you... given the people who were aware of what was going on and still this happened: I'm not sure I have much faith in that.

It does make me question the standard of responsibility and committment that people these days have to their working roles: I become more despondent every time I read stories such as this and learn of so many cockups being made by people in senior positions of trust and responsibility.

Then we have the disparity between his father saying he is worried he will flip vs the father saying he's gentle and caring......

Something about all of this isn't right (apart from the obvious I mean - them both absconding I mean).
