Ex-Big Brother contestant Jade Goody has told about life with ex-major Charles Ingram after finishing filming Channel 4's Celebrity Wife Swap with him.

Ingram tried to con his way to the top prize in ITV1's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with the aid of audience member Tecwen Whittock, who signalled the answers by coughing.

Ingram and Goody spent a week together for Channel 4's Celebrity Wife Swap and they admit it was not all plain sailing.

Goody told Radio TImes: "At first I didn't like him one bit - he was very irritating, very controlling, and he kept talking about how he did a lot round the house, but he never did anything to help me. After about four days, me and Charles had a big run-in, but that sort of cleared the air."

However, they eventually found they saw eye to eye on a number of things.

Goody said: "Fact is, he and I have got quite a lot in common. We've both had a hard time from the papers - when I was in Big Brother, everyone thought I was this two-faced, mouthy cow. I just told him not to be so defensive, not go around all the time telling everyone he was innocent. 'Just take it lightly,' I said, 'and learn how to turn people's minds around'."

And Ingram - who is awaiting sentence after being found guilty of defrauding an insurance company out of £30,000 - admitted: "Living with Jade was quite tough."

He said: "She's not someone who's afraid to speak up, and she lets you have it with both barrels. When she's in that frame of mind, she tends not to listen to other people's opinions, though I suppose the upside is that once she's had her say, it's all forgotten, and she moves on - she doesn't let things fester.

"By the end, I was able not just to appreciate Jade's sense of fun, I had also developed a strong respect for her."

The pair will be seen in the Channel 4 show on November 11.
