In theory maybe but let's face it, they were in the bottom two in Week 2 and there are like four established boy bands who are much better looking and better singers out there in the pop world right now. If they were a girl band they'd have been sent packing and Louis Walsh would have been focusing all his attention on Union J. Surprised Louis didn't send his own act home tbh, it would make more sense to drop the dead weight and focus on the superior boy band and the 'urban' act he has. However, you're absolutely spot on Nathan. I expect they'll be out in Week 4 after a rebound vote next week, unless they're up against another Over, Rylan or Jade.

I genuinely think this year's contestants are terrible. They are all clichés or are being cloned after current popstars. Not one of them has that something special about them - you could feel it with Little Mix last year, you could feel it with Alexandra, JLS, Leona, Matt Cardle, One Direction, Cher Lloyd... you could just see futures for all of them. This year's bunch, I genuinely don't see a popstar among them.

Yeah, as much as I love her I can't really see Jade being overly successful post-X Factor because of Rebecca Ferguson, similarly Ella has Adele and Lucy is too niche.

I agree. Carolynne was forgivable - she had a crap song choice, it made her forgettable. Melanie was very obviously one of the best singers on the show though, even if you thought she was shouty, there's no way that half of the contestants on the show are better than her.

If this was directed at me? I stopped watching for about 2/3 weeks after the Lydia/Deana eviction, and even then I never properly got back into it, I missed days.

You all keep mentioning X Factor 2009 but X Factor 2010 had bad decisions too... they kicked the greatest contestant of all-time Shirlena Johnson out the competition because she was leagues above everyone else and everyone else was intimidated so they made up some story about her being insane.
