It's funding for the arts too, I suspect there are great writers and producers...But where's the financial backing?
I happen to think the 'grim up north stuff' is very good. How much research have you done into the British film industry? There are still great low budget gems out there. Without the marketing of the 'blockbusters' you have to sniff them out..
