I've pretty much grown up on this forum. I was 13 approaching 14 when I joined - I don't remember typing like an idiot, but you could tell how young I was. Then I think I became sort of too wise for my years and alienated myself from the other users my age - my first real friend on TiBB was lily and we've always remained friends ever since then, despite our age difference, because I think she understood that I didn't really fit in with everyone else. I felt bullied for a while by a certain clique on the forum (including MarkWaldorf - ironic that half a decade later, we'd end up meeting in person, and he's actually one of the nicest people I've ever met!) and stopped posting for a long time and kind of forgot about TiBB. I'd remember it every so often and have a browse but I don't think I really posted. Then in like 2007 I made a concerted effort to try and get back into it because the other online communities I'd been posting on were dying out and I really didn't have much in the way of friends in real life, so I just sort of posted until people acknowledged me on here again. I think the turning point was becoming a judge on dupin's X Factor game. My fellow judges were Billy, Darenn and Shaun. I ended up becoming close friends with Shaun and Darenn; and whilst the latter disappeared and we don't speak anymore (though we would if he was around!), the former became my best friend on TiBB
.Through Shaun, I got to know the rest of my TiBB friends really (apart from lily who I'd always been friends with) and we had so many glorious nights on MSN from like 2008-2010, that was definitely the high point for me. I think it helped me reintegrate myself into forum life. The last couple of years, people's priorities changed with the times, but I'll always be a poster on here I think, I've been here for over 7 years now and, if for no other reason, I can always look back on my posting history and see how I've grown up.

I have improved my grammar and spelling alot over the years I have used this site. I have become far more quieter and less outrageous. My music obsessions have changed alot over time. Although I listen to a huge variety of music at current day.

Typing without capitals often, posting much less often (considering I only had 3000 at the start of this year) and not really got involved as much.. I was only 13 so only the Big Bro posts interested me then!:')

![]() I think everyone who had joined before 09. I just presumed that y'all knew each other and got on. I remember being pretty shocked when two people were arguing and both had over 10k post and one of them said that they had never spoken to the other person before. But yea I think Ross's Den thread helped a lot. Because a lot of the other people posting there were new also, it wasn't as daunting. |
