Mr De'Ath once produced a Jimmy Savile radio show. Neighbours at his flat in Cambridge said detectives removed bags from the property.

Mr De’ath, a producer of Savile’s on the BBC radio shoe Teen Scene, has lived for the last ten years in a one bedroom second floor flat in a housing association block in Cambridge.

In his autobiography 'Uncommon Criminal' published in 2008, Mr De'ath described himsef as a 'sexual predator' who had 'targeted' the actresses Susanna York, Julie Christie, and Charlotte Rampling. He admitted to being a voyeur and claimed to have 'lifelong twin obsessions with sex and religion.'

He claimed he was recruited by MI5 to befriend a Russian spy at an orgy and maintained that he discovered Kenny Everett.

Surely, "not guilty" is a plea not a condition - the man has not been charged yet, AFAIK .....

I thought all you "freedom-fighters" insisted an suspected sex offenders being "innocent" until proven "guilty" .....

If you knew anything about the law you'd be a little more measured in what you post and more careful about the the unfounded allegations you throw around.

Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Everyone. It's something you should think about next time you post one of your thrilling little tit-bits.

I didn't query that - I queried the use of "not guilty" to describe a man who, AFAIK, has not even been formally charged with a crime yet, let alone brought up before a court of law to answer any such charge.

I am jumping to the defence of people who have been accused of a heinous crime without a shred of evidence being presented, and people like you are metaphorically licking their screen with glee at the excitement of it all. And excuse my use of 'not guilty', it must be the four years I spent studying law that has affected my semantics. Furthermore, if was looking for a discussion about semantics with someone on my level, your name wouldn't spring to mind.

In the eyes of the law you are correct Sticks. It is 'innocent until proven guilty', but unfortunately when it comes to paedophelia and a media two-ring-circus where 'profit' comes before the consideration of anyone who actually may be innocent, it becomes 'guilty until proven innocent'. The public (most of which are a gullable thick bunch of people) will simply believe what is spewed out by the papers and on tv which then turns them into judge, jury and executioner of the person or persons they name, and without a trial or much evidence to back it up.

The evidence that the police are desperate to find which can link anyone else to what Jimmy Saville may have done will be simply people coming forward and saying 'this', 'that' and 'the other' about what aparently happened to them in the past. The second that happens the police will rush like mad to that person or persons house, probably mob-handed and it wont be long before the media find out, as theres more than likely someone in the force taking a back-hander as the newspaper that gets that juicy story the quickest will without doubt profit very much from it, so paying to get the information faster than anyone else will be in their best interest. It's a corrupt world you know The News of the World phone-hacking scandal for instance.

I was reading about Freddie Star's furious outburst towards these (couldn't give a ****) journalists who are more than happy to shove a camera and a microphone in his face and talk about allegations that he maybe a peadophile. Well his life is now ruined anyway (guilty or innocent) and I agree with his anger. I think anyone would with the way the whole corrupt system works.

I would really love to know, while having a discussion in serious debates what on earth is wrong with posting reports from broadsheet newspapers as a point of reference?
I am sick to death of seeing the suggestion that members are throwing around accusations, or they in some way do not have the intellectual capacity to comment on news items...
I for one will continue to comment on this case as it continues, those who do take an interest in this topic should be (in my opinion) able to do so without constant heckling.

A councillor has suggested demolishing a house which belonged to disgraced TV presenter Jimmy Savile after it was vandalised for a third time.

Orange paint was sprayed onto exterior walls of the cottage at Allt Na Reigh in Glencoe over the weekend.

Last month, stones were thrown at the property before "Jimmy the beast" was later written on a wall.

Highland councillor Andrew Baxter said the local community might want the cottage to be pulled down.

Savile bought the Glencoe cottage in 1998.

Mr Baxter told BBC Radio Scotland that the property sat in a prominent location in Glencoe, and there were growing concerns it had become the focus for the disgust people felt towards Savile.

Northern Constabulary said it was investigating the latest incident of vandalism.

Back in 2003 he opened the events we had for In Town without Your Car day in our China town, should we now start sending in the bulldozers to wipe the whole of Newcastle's Stowell Street off of the map because he was there?
